21-year-old Arsenal player simply has to leave next season, he’s far too good not to be playing

Unfortunately, it seems as if a fair few players will have to leave Arsenal next summer as Mikel Arteta progresses his project.

Although Arteta is currently enjoying the fruits of an incredibly settled squad right now, a few situations will need addressing in the summer.

Eddie Nketiah will surely need to leave the club for his own progress, and the same could definitely be said for Aaron Ramsdale.

And then there’s the players it’s not so clear for, will Emile Smith Rowe prefer a departure to once again be a key player elsewhere?

Arsenal fans will hope not.

However, it seems as if the writing may now be on the wall for one Arsenal youngster, Karl Hein.

The Estonia number one is now 21-years-old, and is clearly a big talent as his 27 caps demonstrate.

And following Hein’s brilliant display for Arsenal’s under 21s against Chelsea this weekend, it’s becoming clear that he now needs to play senior football in his club career too.

Karl Hein may need to leave Arsenal this summer, he’s too good to be Mikel Arteta’s third choice

If Aaron Ramsdale does depart Arsenal as mentioned this summer, it seems as if another player would arrive.

Despite his talent, there seems to be little clamour for Karl Hein to become David Raya’s new number two at the Emirates.

In truth, that is probably a task that is beyond him right now, demonstrating his tough position.

Perhaps Hein doesn’t need to leave Arsenal on a permanent basis, but he definitely can’t just stick around as Arteta’s third choice.

A season-long loan where Hein is the trusted number one, perhaps in the Championship or League One, would seem ideal.

But for a 21-year-old who’s clearly got so much potential, he needs to be playing senior minutes regularly.

It really would be a surprise if a talented goalkeeper like Hein just continued to play in the youth set-up at Arsenal, where he can only go so far.

It’s time for a fresh challenge, hopefully one that will only be on loan, but whatever it takes, it’s time for Hein to play senior football.
