Tottenham Hotspur loanee TJ Eyoma is making quite a name for himself at Lincoln, helping his current side to the top of the standings.
The 20-year-old defender left Spurs in August to link up on loan with the Imps, who consolidated their place in League One last season after earning promotion as League Two champions in 2019.
To date, Eyoma has started all nine of Lincoln’s league matches and has helped them to seven wins and one draw, putting them top of the third-tier table, a point clear of Hull.
The East Midlanders have won their last three league games and kept clean sheets in their last four, with the Tottenham academy gem playing a big role in this superb run.
On Tuesday night, Lincoln ran out 1-0 winners over Crewe, Harry Anderson with the crucial goal on 39 minutes, and Eyoma made a key pass, a tackle and a clearance during the game (Whoscored).
“Another commanding display from the right-back. 8/10,” wrote Lincolnshire Live of Eyoma’s efforts on the night.
There are several highly-rated Tottenham academy gems impressing on loan, and Eyoma’s efforts for Lincoln so far will certainly be giving the Spurs coaches food for thought.
Eyoma, who can play at both centre-half and right-back, has already made his Spurs senior debut, against Tranmere in the 2019 FA Cup, and has been an everpresent at Under-23s level.
With his contract taking him to 2023, there’s plenty of time for him to make his name at the North London club, and if he continues to impress, Jose Mourinho could well think about promoting him to the first team next term.
