Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kallum Cesay has now been called into first-team training by Antonio Conte and he’s yet to make his debut for the club.

The Spurs players who haven’t gone to the World Cup are now being put through their paces at Hotspur Way.

Dejan Kulusevski missed out on the tournament due to Sweden missing out on qualification, while the likes of Emerson Royal and Clement Lenglet weren’t selected to represent Brazil and France.

The break will give Conte a good opportunity to evaluate the rest of his squad and even take a look at some prospects coming through the ranks in north London. And one youngster that was called up to first-team training today was Cesay – a right-back prospect.

Cesay can be spotted walking to the pitches at Hotspur Way in a video on Tottenham’s YouTube channel today.

The 20-year-old is yet to make his debut for Spurs but has earned two caps for his national side Sierra Leone, scoring two goals in the process.

Cesay did make an appearance in pre-season under Nuno Espirito Santo last year but has only played for the U21 side since.

Spurs’ struggles at right-back have been well documented this season, with both Royal and Matt Doherty failing to impress.

Djed Spence has barely been used by Conte since making the switch from Middlesbrough over the summer.

Cesay has made 12 appearances in the Premier League 2 this season and will be hoping to make an impression on Conte during the World Cup break.

The youngster has impressed at youth level for Spurs but is still waiting for an opportunity in the first-team. With Spurs’ current right wing-back options underperforming, Cesay will see the next three weeks as an ideal opportunity to show Conte what he’s capable of.
