20-year-old now set to leave Tottenham imminently, medical happening today - journalist
Wales Online reported this week that the Bluebirds were interested in the 20-year-old hitman, who has one year left on his Spurs deal.
That means the Welsh outfit do have to pay a fee for him, but it should not be a huge amount as they continue to be frugal with their summer business.
And journalist Alex Crook says that Etete is set for an imminent exit with a medical scheduled ahead of his move to the second tier.

The report also said that Etete had a host of admirers in the Championship, so it seems Cardiff have done well to win the race to land him.
He is a tall, imposing striker, who has experience of League 1 and League 2 from previous loan spells and is now ready for the step up.
Spurs decided earlier this summer they were willing to sell Etete after opting against him travelling to South Korea on their pre-season tour.
With the Championship season now underway, it seems the hitman has now got all set to make his move with just the final details to sort.
Etete earned rave reviews while at Northampton and Cheltenham.
One such example came from the Northampton Chronicle, who lauded the striker’s debut against Coventry.
The publication gave him 9.5 out of 10 and claimed: “Debuts do not get much better. Outstanding all-round display. Bullied and bossed Coventry’s defence all night long, just too strong and too powerful.”
Cardiff fans will hope to see more of the same, while some Spurs fans will keep an eye on his journey from here with interest.
