Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Lazio striker Felipe Caicedo this summer and the powerful star may have just hinted at a move to Elland Road on Twitter – to which Leeds fans have responded.
At the end of June, Italian outlet Imperio claimed Leeds are very interested in signing 30-year-old Caicedo from Lazio. The former Manchester City striker has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Lazio.
Last season, the 68-time Ecuador international managed 38 appearances for Lazio and scored nine goals as well as laying on six assists. Eight of those came in the top flight of Italian football.
Somewhat of a journeyman, Caicedo has played for nine different clubs in seven countries – including Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow and Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon. Caicedo has teased Leeds fans on Twitter, posting “El Loco.”

Leeds have got both Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford up front, while Ryan Edmondson is showing excellent form in the Under-23 side. Tyler Roberts can also do a job up front, which he proved last season.
Caicedo earns £26,000 a week at Lazio following his £2.25m move to the Serie A side, as per Football Italia. But with his contract expiring next summer, he is likely to be available on the cheap.
Leeds fans caught wind of Caicedo’s Tweet and many are excited that his post could be in relation to Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, renowned for his nickname ‘El Loco’. Many reckon Caicedo could be joining Leeds.
