All the talk recently has been about Kobbie Mainoo but another Manchester United youngster performed brilliantly for his country on Friday.
The Red Devils aren’t having a great campaign. They are six points worse off in the Premier League now than they were at the same stage last season.
Erik ten Hag has got a lot of things wrong at Old Trafford, but one thing he deserves enormous praise for is his willingness to use young players.
Mainoo has been the talk of the town, but another Manchester United teenager showed his class for his country on Friday night.

Manchester United youngster praised for his international display
Several Manchester United players have been called up to their respective national teams for their games in this international break.
All of them would’ve flown out with high confidence following their fantastic victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup at Old Trafford.
One player who picked up an assist against Jurgen Klopp’s side is Alejandro Garnacho. He is a part of Argentina’s squad, and he impressed on Friday night.
The World Champions took on El Salvador in a friendly, and Garnacho, like Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister, started the game on the bench.
The Manchester United winger was brought on at half-time in place of Nico Gonzalez on the left wing, and he was brilliant.
Garnacho was a constant threat every time he got on the ball. He tormented the El Salvador right-back, and was unlucky to have not picked up a couple of assists.
Argentine media outlet TyC Sports were really impressed with the 19-year-old. They feel he produced his best-ever display for the Albiceleste on Friday night.
After giving him a 7/10 rating, they wrote: “Deeper than Nico Gonzalez, he tried to assist Lautaro almost every time he entered the area, a couple of times to Di Maria.
“His best game in the national team so far.”

Erik ten Hag needs to reconsider Alejandro Garnacho’s position
Since the turn of 2024, Alejandro Garnacho has played just one game on the left wing for Manchester United in the Premier League.
All of his other appearances have come on the opposite side.
Garnacho has done fairly well on the right flank, but his best position is on the left, where he gets the opportunity to cut inside and have a real impact.
Some Manchester United staff think Garnacho can reach Cristiano Ronaldo’s level one day. Although the Portuguese superstar was brilliant on the right, he was even better on the left.
Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni used Garnacho on the left wing against El Salvador, and that proved to be a brilliant move. Ten Hag needs to do that too in the coming weeks.
