Everton are eyeing a La Liga striker to bolster their options up front, according to recent reports.
According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Borja Iglesias is a target for Everton and they are prepared to pay his release clause.
Iglesias could move from Espanyol for €28m with Everton keen on him to replace Cenk Tosun.
But they need to heed one warning: Iglesias’ goal scoring record in La Liga is similar to Everton flop Sandro Ramirez before he moved to Merseyside.
Sandro scored 16 goals in 31 games for Malaga in the 2016/17 season, earning him a move to Everton.

But the 2017/18 season only yielded one goal in 15 games, before a disastrous loan spell at Sevilla ended with no goals in 18 games.
The 23-year-old is still at Everton but his future looks bleak at Goodison Park because he has failed to find the net in 10 games on loan at Real Sociedad this season.
Iglesias has a similar record to Sandro’s 2016/17 exploits. In 19 La Liga outings, the 25-year-old has netted nine times. This followed 23 goals in 43 games for Seguna Division side Zaragoza last season.
But whether the Spaniard is worth the sizeable January outlay is debatable, given Sandro’s failure to adapt to life in England.
