Tyrique George is said to be making a strong impression on senior players at Chelsea.

It was Rising Ballers – a page which specialises in young talent across the Premier League – who made the comment on X (previously known as Twitter).

So, what is the situation involving Chelsea wonderkid Tyrique George? Let’s take a look…

Tyrique George shining at Chelsea

Well, the 18-year-old is making a name for himself at Cobham.

George has excelled this season with eight goals and two assists in 19 appearances for the Chelsea U18 side, with Mauricio Pochettino inviting the teenager to train with the first-team at Cobham.

Referencing these sessions, Rising Ballers wrote on X: “Chelsea and England U18 winger Tyrique George only scores bangers. Already making a big impression on the first team players. Next up at Cobham.”

The England U18 international is predominantly a left winger – although he has made one appearance on the right this season.

Remarkably, George seems just as effective on his left foot as he does on his right – the latter is believed to be his stronger side, although it is genuinely hard to tell.

If you were to watch footage of the electric winger, you can see he generates just as much power on a shot regardless of which foot he uses, which means Pochettino could realistically deploy him on either flank.

Chelsea need to trust Cobham

If there is one thing Todd Boehly must learn, it is to never underestimate the talent within Cobham.

Chelsea have already waved goodbye to some top talent over the years – such as Marc Guehi, Jamal Musiala, Fikayo Tomori, Declan Rice, Nathan Ake, Michael Olise and Dominic Solanke to name a handful.

Most of those names were sold in favour of an expensive import from elsewhere, although the majority of them would still start for Chelsea right now.

That should show Boehly he is already sitting on some of Europe’s most precocious talents – such as George – so hopefully, the American looks within next time he considers spending millions on a teenager from another club.
