Upon their return to the Premier League, Leeds United are in the market for a new striker.
Mateo Joseph is ready to leave Leeds this summer amid concerns over his playing time in the English top-flight, which is perhaps a sensible decision.
Joel Piroe has just enjoyed an excellent campaign for Leeds in the Championship, scoring 19 goals in 46 appearances.
However, Leeds fans would be forgiven for having doubts about the 25-year-old’s ability to step up and lead the line in the Premier League.
Piroe is a superb technician, but Daniel Farke’s side might better benefit from signing a more physical striker, hence Leeds’ interest in Everton’s Beto.
However, Beto isn’t the only striker on the club’s radar right now.
Josh Sargent is keen to join Leeds in the Premier League
In addition to Beto, Leeds are interested in a move for Norwich City striker Josh Sargent.
Speaking of goals in the Championship, Sargent scored 15 himself for Norwich and it’s long been believed that the 25-year-old is ready to make the step up.

And to that end, Sky Sports in Switerzland have now reported that Leeds have been in contact with Norwich to sign Sargent.
Leeds have spoken with the player’s camp and Sargent has ‘made it known’ to the club that he would be interested in joining Farke’s mission in the Premier League.
The report states that Sargent could cost up to €20m (£17m) this summer, a deal which shouldn’t be beyond the 49ers.
The information also stresses that Leeds are seriously considering a move for Beto at Everton, a deal which would cost slightly more.
Everton are thought to be holding out for around €25m (£21m), a similar fee they paid Udinese to sign the Guinea-Bissau international in 2023.
Leeds’ recent history with United States internationals
Mostly as a result of Jesse Marsch’s time in charge of Leeds, the club have already had some fairly high profile Americans on their books in recent years.
Brendan Aaronson obviously returned to Leeds to help their efforts in the Championship last season, following a controversial loan switch to Union Berlin the year before.
Aaronson was one of many Leeds players who appeared to jump ship once they were relegated, a player who fans were ultimately willing to forgive.
Otherwise, Tyler Adams joined Leeds in 2023 himself, playing 26 games for the club before he was sold on to Bournemouth.
And Weston McKennie also shouldn’t be forgotten, one of Leeds’ signings made in the 2023/24 season in a bid to avoid relegation.
