Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has been putting his players through their paces ahead of this weekend’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa.

Spurs got back to winning ways last weekend and will hope to make it two wins in a row when they head to Villa Park in Sunday’s 1pm kick-off.

Tottenham have improved massively from last season and will fancy their chances of finishing in the top four this term.

One key aspect in Spurs’ improvement has been the strengthening of their back line and of the last line of defence.

Guglielmo Vicario has been a revelation in goal for Tottenham, stepping in seamlessly after Hugo Lloris was frozen out at N17.

Indeed, Whoscored currently has him down as the second highest-rated goalkeeper in the Premier League, behind West Ham’s Alphonse Areola.

On Wednesday, the Spurs media team shared footage of the players in training at Hotspur Way on YouTube.

Vicario was very much on the ball, pulling off an impressive diving save at 2 minutes in, which prompted applause from teammate Luca Gunter.

Guglielmo Vicario going the extra mile for Tottenham Hotspur

Not only is Vicario impressing on the pitch and in the dressing room for Tottenham, but he’s also going the extra mile in supporting Spurs’ young talents.

In January, the Italian attended a goalkeeping clinic alongside first-team coach Rob Burch, where they provided guidance to the club’s academy stoppers.

As per the official Tottenham website, Vicario and Burch also hosted a Q&A session in the analysis suite, where they fielded a number of questions from the youngsters.

Vicario hasn’t put a foot wrong at Tottenham since arriving from Empoli in pretty much every aspect, and long may it continue. Not bad for just over £17million.
