17 goals in 20 games: Fran Sol signs off for winter and shows Celtic what they're after
Celtic are one of many teams being linked with a move for Fran Sol in January, as reported by The Scottish Sun. The Spanish striker is reportedly set to leave Willem II as he looks to embark on a future elsewhere.
Old Firm rivals Rangers, Leeds United and several other teams are all said to be keen, but Celtic seem to match up to what Sol is looking for better than any other side.
With Celtic also wanting reinforcements in attack, a deal would make a degree of sense.

Yesterday he again showed just why Celtic should be keen. Willem II defeated FC Emmen away from home last night. Sol, of course, was on the scoresheet again. He bundled home a low cross and ran off celebrating the birth of a new baby boy. The fact he stated to Brabants Broadcast after the game he has not slept in three days because of the arrival of his son makes his display even more impressive.
The goal took the Spaniard’s tally to 17 goals in 20 games this season, an incredible rate of return for the former Real Madrid academy talent.
He goes into the Dutch winter break second in the goal-scoring charts, just behind Luuk de Jong of PSV.
Celtic will no doubt continue to keep track of his displays in the New Year.
