Manchester United round-up: Perisic move over; £90m Bale bid; Tottenham ace targeted

Jose Mourinho has appeared to rule out a Manchester United move for winger Ivan Perisic as he told Premium Sport, as translated by The Sun:

“That’s football. If I was playing against Inter tomorrow I’d want to win. They’re strong, they put up a good defence to keep someone who’s an important player for them. That’s football.”

Inter Milan had proven to be tough negotiators as the two parties attempted to come to an agreement over the Croatian, but it seems that any deal has now been abandoned. That will come as a substantial blow to United’s hopes but may give more opportunities to the likes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.

The club now may pursue a move for Gareth Bale as Spanish outlet Don Balon claim that United could launch a £90 million bid for the Welshman. His future at Real Madrid is in doubt with a potential move for Kylian Mbappe only likely to force Bale out of the club.

Jose Mourinho is known to be a keen admirer of the winger and may look to capitalise on the uncertainty. However, it is worth noting here that the outlet is far from the most reliable of Spanish sources.

Another reported target on the flanks is Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, according to the Independent. The England international is currently out of action with an injury but Manchester United could launch a move to make him a Red Devil before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Daniel Levy is unlikely to be open to a sale, as he was with Eric Dier earlier this summer. However, after Spurs did cash in on fellow full-back Kyle Walker, Mourinho may have some hope of securing a deal even if it does involve stumping up a substantial amount of cash to do so.
