Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been reacting to the rumours about a potential move to Barcelona and is not happy at all.
Arteta was surprisingly linked with a move to Barca over the weekend after Xavi announced he would be stepping down at the end of the season.
The rumours were immediately show down by local and English media outlets and those outlets have been awaiting Arteta making some comments today.

And speaking ahead of this week’s Premier League action, Arteta has admitted he is furious and upset with the rumours and categorically denied any truth in them.
“It’s totally untrue and I’m really upset about [the rumour]. I’m immersed in a beautiful journey with this club and there is still a lot to do,” Arteta said.
Arteta has been backed over the last few windows to get Arsenal in the title picture and he has them nicely positioned this season to make another run at top spot.
Arteta commits to Arsenal
This is just what Arsenal fans wanted to hear and it’s quite refreshing to see a manager simply shoot a rumour down completely.
Sometimes, we see managers beat around the bush a bit and not quite quash things. However, Arteta has done that here and it’s clear it has annoyed him as well.
Whether this provides some sort of motivation for the Gunners and Arteta to push even harder this season remains to be seen.
But clearly, this is an example of when a rumour starts and someone in football can actually take steps to shoot it down completely.
Arteta is on a nice £160k-a-week contract in North London and has a big project building.
He might well end up in Barcelona one day. But for now, his focus is Arsenal and getting that Premier League title back.
