Seamus Coleman seems like one of the most likeable players in the Premier League.
The Irishman has always been hailed as a consummate professional, and you rarely find anyone who has a bad word to say about him.
However, now, one former Everton player has had a bit of a dig at Coleman.
Indeed, speaking on FilthyFellas, Ashley Williams has noted that he really didn’t like Coleman when he first arrived at Everton in a £12m deal, but he eventually became good friends with him.

Ashley Williams didn’t like Seamus Coleman
The Wales international spoke about his former Everton teammate.
“So I go to Everton and I do my medical, but I didn’t really want to go. I wanted to stay at Swansea, but that’s football isn’t it? I’d had loads of arguments with Seamus, because he talks that smack all the time and so do I. I finished the medical at the training ground, and I pulled up late, and there was one player walking towards me, I know he hates me, and I kinda hated on him as well, and we had the most awkward interaction,” Williams said.
“There were loads of us who were gobby, we can come together, we became real tight, he’s one of my good friends, a wicked player.”
Seamus Coleman is competitive
We can understand why these two didn’t get on before they were teammates.
Coleman is a very competitive player who can be intense on the pitch, and he’s bound to clash with opposition players, especially someone as competitive and as opinionated as Williams.
Luckily, these two were able to settle their differences once they were teammates, and while Williams’ time as an Everton player wasn’t particularly brilliant, he did eventually settle in on Merseyside and become an important player for the Toffees.
