£120m player really doesn't want to join Arsenal, he wants to sign for PSG instead - journalist

Journalist Gianluca di Marzio says that Joao Felix wants to join Paris Saint-Germain over Arsenal in the January transfer window.

The injury suffered by Gabriel Jesus at the World Cup has raised the prospect that Arsenal will dip into the winter market for a forward.

But di Marzio told Dutch outlet Soccer News that Felix is certain not to move to north London and wants a switch to the French capital instead.

Di Marzio on Felix to Arsenal rumours

He said of where Felix will go next: “Arsenal certainly not, because he wants to play for Paris Saint-Germain.

“Atlético Madrid just don’t want to lose him at all and they are asking 130/140 million euros (£112 – £120 million) for him!

“Paris Saint-Germain would be a logical choice if he does leave Atlético. After all, there are not that many clubs that can afford to pay him and PSG are interested in young players for the future.

“So that they can absorb a departure from Mbappé or Neymar or so that they have a replacement when Messi’s contract expires.

The case of Felix is a strange one in the sense he has said he wants to leave Atletico Madrid and they seem fairly resigned to losing him.

But they are apparently demanding an absolutely astronomical fee for him, meaning that the chances of doing a deal are slim.

PSG could spend huge money on him but for the time being, he would be fourth choice behind the aforementioned Neymar and Messi, as well as Kylian Mbappe.

Arsenal won’t be going near him at that kind of price, and his wages will be huge too, so it makes sense that they would look at other targets.
