In the last four matches, Leeds United’s shocking goal conversion rate has seen them slip out of contention for automatic promotion.
Five games ago, Leeds beat Preston North End 2-0 to move back into second place with Patrick Bamford scoring both goals.
But since then, they have won one, drawn one and lost two of their next four games, allowing Sheffield United to storm ahead and confirm their promotion.
According to Opta statistician Jonny Cooper, who is also a Leeds fan, the Whites have had 112 shots in those four games, scoring just three goals.
With a conversion rate of just 2.7 per cent, this illustrates the true story behind their recent decline. And it is a worrying omen ahead of the play-offs.
Bamford has led the line for Leeds and he scored one of those goals but he has also been guilty of missing numerous chances.

Jack Harrison and Mateusz Klich are the other two to score but Leeds’ struggles in front of goal show how much they miss Kemar Roofe.
With the play-offs looming, this is something Marcelo Bielsa needs to address imminently. Roofe could return to fitness, which would be a major boost for the promotion hopes.
Leeds face already-relegated Ipswich Town this weekend. And they must use this as a confidence-boost ahead of their play-off campaign.
