West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne, according to Sky Sports.

The 29-year-old has been sensational for the Turkish giants this season, his 11 goals in just 18 Superlig games helping the team to third in the table, two points off the summit.

Diagne’s record in Turkey is nothing short of outstanding, having also shone at for Kasimpasa, and he’s currently on 54 goals from just 74 competitive appearances between both clubs.

The Senegal international, contracted to Gala until 2023, also spent time playing for Belgium’s Club Brugge on loan last year, featuring for them in the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports, West Brom have moved on to Diagne after being unable to agree a loan deal with Hoffenheim for striker Ishak Belfodil.

The report adds that he’s potentially available on loan, with an option to buy if Albion survive in the Premier League this season.

As per Sky Sports, Diagne has been playing as a lone centre-forward and is a sizeable presence up front, a very good finisher and has also shown an ability to drop deeper and link up play.

He is popular amongst Gala fans and speculation linking him with a move has led to some voicing their concerns on social media:
