A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have had their say on whether they’d like Thiago Silva at Spurs after a report emerged claiming that Paris Saint-Germain will not be offering their captain a new contract this summer.
French outlet L’Equipe reported that PSG sporting director Leonardo has let the 35-year-old know his contract will not be extended past the two-month extension to his existing deal that he will be given to complete the club’s 2019-20 campaign.
It is claimed that Silva rejected a pay cut, which would have allowed him to stay at Parc des Princes beyond the end of this season, which has been extended in wake of the global health crisis.

While the 2019-20 Ligue 1 campaign is now over, the finals of the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue are yet to go ahead – PSG have reached both – along with the latter stages of the Champions League.
Silva has been at PSG since 2012 and has made 310 competitive appearances, winning a multitude of trophies along the way including seven Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups, five French League Cups and seven French Super Cups.
Prior to his to his PSG stint, the Brazil international won a Serie A title and an Italian Super Cup at AC Milan, plus one Brazilian Cup at Fluminense, while in the Selecao colours, he has won a Copa America and a Confederations Cup.
What do Tottenham fans think about the prospect of an experienced serial winner like Silva joining Spurs and bolstering their back line? Here are some of the comments on social media:
