'100 per cent': 'Outstanding' Arsenal player says he is faster than Bukayo Saka
Eddie Nketiah has been asked if he is faster than Arsenal teammate and fellow academy graduate Bukayo Saka.
The striker did a question and answer video with Sky Sports and was asked who would win in a race between the pair.
Nketiah backed himself to come out on top, and said that he would be up for a race between the duo over whatever sprint distance required.
The Englishman has taken on Thierry Henry’s legendary number 14 shirt this season after signing a new contract.
Nketiah says he is faster than Saka
When asked who is faster between him and Saka, Nketiah said: “Me. 100 per cent. 100 per cent.
“I would like to see him answer that as well. We will grab him in! He is quick but I think I’m quicker.
“I think over every distance. 50 metres definitely. 50 and 100. He might not like to hear it.
“Over 50 for sure. We’ll sort a race out and I’ll put it on Instagram live.”
The 22-year-old, branded as ‘outstanding’ by Clinton Morrison, has to show his quality this season after signing a new long-term deal.
He has already said he is happy to play in the same team as Gabriel Jesus and willing to operate out wide on the left to fit into the team.
That role would allow him to show his pace more, and could see Mikel Arteta line up with the speed of Nketiah on one side and Saka on the other.
