TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has claimed that Newcastle United star Callum Wilson would be a guaranteed starter at Arsenal.

A lot of questions are being asked about the strikers at Arsenal. Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have come under a ton of criticism, so much so that Wilson is being linked with a move to the Emirates.

Darren Bent says Callum Wilson would start for Arsenal

Newcastle United star Callum Wilson is the last name Arsenal fans would’ve expected their side to be linked with in this window.

The Standard claimed recently that the Gunners have been alerted to his availability and that he can be signed for a fee as low as £18 million in the coming days.

Arsenal fans, unsurprisingly, aren’t too thrilled with these links as many are unconvinced that Wilson would start ahead of Gabriel Jesus in the Gunners’ attack.

Darren Bent, however, is convinced that Mikel Arteta will use him over the Brazilian and Eddie Nketiah if Arsenal end up signing him this month.

After Andy Goldstein claimed he would take Wilson at Manchester United, he asked Bent if he’d have Wilson at Arsenal.

The pundit replied on talkSPORT: ” For £20 million? I’d take that, 100 per cent! Would he start? If he’s fully fit, yeah!

“He scores more goals than the other two. That’s just facts.”

Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus is better than Callum Wilson

If you’re talking about just goalscoring and nothing else, Callum Wilson may have a chance of winning an argument about being better than Arsenal‘s Gabriel Jesus.

However, there’s a lot more required of a striker – especially at Arsenal.

Jesus is absolutely integral to the way the Gunners play. He’s involved in almost everything in attack, and his work rate is arguably the best among all the forwards in the Premier League.

Darren Bent is entitled to his opinion, but we don’t think there’s any chance he starts at Arsenal – unless Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard and even Kai Havertz are unavailable.
