4. Luka Zahovic
This 20-year-old SC Heerenveen striker could enjoy a similarly peripatetic career as his dad, Zlatko Zahovic. Luka was born in Portugal, playing in the Netherlands and is representing Slovenia at under 21 level. Zlatko has commented on his son’s abilities: “He really is a good talent. For me, he is so special, no question.”
5. Niall Keown
Niall Keown is a centre-back currently plying his trade at Reading, just like his father Martin. The 21-year-old made his Republic of Ireland debut at U21 level earlier this year and has also made two substitute appearances for the first team last term but has been limited to the Royals’ development squad in 2015/16. He signed a three-year deal at Reading last summer and appears to be part of the Championship club’s plans going forward.
6. Joshua Nascimento
Retired Brazilian legend, Pelé, is now well into his seventies, but his youngest son was born in 1996. Joshua Nascimento is currently in the youth setup at Santos, but uses his dad’s real name as opposed to the ‘Pelé’ nickname for fear that it would burden him with over-hyped expectations. Joshua is also a striker, like his father, but avoids wearing the number 10 shirt for the same reasons.
7. Rivaldinho
It will be extremely difficult for Rivaldinho to match the accomplishments of his dad Rivaldo. The ex-Barcelona and Brazil attacking midfielder has won trophies from the Champions League, Copa America and World Cup. However, he sure is going to try. The two even scored in the same match last year, with both forwards netting in Mogi Mirim’s 3-1 defeat of Macae in July 2015.
