They say having a professional footballer for a dad must help your chances. So we’re taking a look at ten footballer’s who are following in their famous father’s footsteps and who hope to replicate their success in the game.
1. Ianis Hagi
Gheorghe Hagi’s 17-year-old son, Ianis, has made 36 appearances for Viitorul Constanta in the Romanian top flight and has already notched two goals in two games for Romania’s U19s. The country’s public are hoping he goes on to replicate his father’s success by playing for the National side.
2. Jordan Larsson
Jordan Larsson is a Swedish footballer playing for Helsingborgs IF in Allsvenskan as a forward, which is also the team that his dad, Henrik Larsson, manages. The 18-year-old is destined for great things, recently scoring a terrific 40-yard free-kick in April that was described as “a goal his old man would have been proud of.”
3. Leroy Sané
This 20-year-old German player needs no introduction. The Schalke forward registered seven league goals and six assists in 31 appearances and was one of the standout young players in the Bundesliga last season. His father Souleyman has also spent time in Germany over the course of his career, including Freiburg, Nurnberg and Wattenscheid.
