It now seems as if it could be the end of the road at Leeds United for a defender on the periphery of things under Daniel Farke.
The January transfer window has now started to heat up for Farke’s side, and it seems it could be the case of one in, one out.

Or perhaps that could be in reverse.
Although it seems that interest is now emerging for Everton’s Ben Godfrey – a player who would be excellent in the Championship, it seems a Leeds player could depart first.
Leo Fuhr Hjelde has struggled to make the desired impact at Elland Road having signed from Celtic back in 2021.
And it now seems as if his move to Sunderland is near to completion today.
The Norway youth international has rarely featured for Farke’s Leeds side, and it seems a move would now be best for the defender.
That being said, Norwegian journalist Arilas Ould-Saada has now shared the latest on the move over on X.
The journalist stated that Hjelde could leave Leeds as soon as tonight, with a move to Sunderland now all but agreed.
Norwegian defender Leo Fuhr Hjelde could leave Daniel Farke’s Leeds toay
Sharing an update on his compatriot, Ould-Saada stated that Sunderland would pay up to £1.5m for the versatile defender.
He said: “The Norwegian U21 national team player Leo Fuhr Hjelde (20) has agreed with Sunderland on a 4.5-year contract and will probably sign tonight, according to TV 2’s information.
“Hjelde is undergoing a medical today and is being sold for £1-1.5M from Leeds United.”
Of course, as stated, this move could bode very well for Leeds if Farke was able to pursue interest in a defender like Ben Godfrey.
Although on the periphery of things under Sean Dyche, Godfrey is an England international and his ability and potential is being rather downplayed these days.
Dyche’s decision to leave Godfrey out shouldn’t tarnish his reputation, rather it just demonstrates a difference in styles.
And with a view to returning to the Premier League, Godfrey would be a very welcome addition.
That being said, Leeds are also said to be close to another impressive signing.
