Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to ten points after seeing off the challenge of London rivals West Ham in a tepid encounter at London Stadium on Monday evening.
Going into the clash seven points ahead of Tottenham after their win over Everton on Sunday afternoon, Eden Hazard’s breakaway goal gave Antonio Conte’s side an early first-half lead.
Diego Costa then touched home from a corner as Chelsea doubled their advantage after the break before a string of saves from Darren Randolph kept the Hammers in the match.
West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini pulled a consolation goal back for the hosts during injury time but it wasn’t enough to deny Chelsea a victory that pulls them away from their top-four rivals again.
