Three key moments that decided Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool

Misses galore

It’s no surprise that in a game with so many chances, fans are talking about the missed opportunities. The two that stand out the most, however, are Adam Lallana’s complete mis-hit and Sergio Aguero’s volley over the bar, both of which happened late in the second half with the score poised 1-1.

After some lovely football, Lallana found himself with a simple half-volley six yards out to potentially clinch the game for Liverpool. The Englishman completely miscued though and missed the ball completely, falling to the ground after realising the fantastic chance he had just missed.

The miss of the game was matched by Sergio Aguero in injury time. The ball dropped to the normally clinical Argentinean, who, leaning back, managed to blaze the ball over the bar and into the stand behind.

Two woeful misses and misses that could be the difference between Champions League and Europe League come the end of the season.
