Manchester United round-up: Juan Mata could depart; Romelu Lukaku valued at £100million; Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele linked

In a shock report, Turkish newspaper Fanatik claim that Manchester United could be preparing to sell midfielder Juan Mata to Besiktas in a swap deal in order to bring 23-year-old Anderson Talisca in the opposite direction.

The Brazilian playmaker is similar in style to Mata with added pace, but the deal would come after the Spaniard has shown his importance to the side time and time again this season after overcoming doubts about his relationship with Jose Mourinho. Currently sidelined after an operation on a groin problem, only time will tell whether or not Mata has played his last game for the Red Devils.

Some key men may have to make way if Mourinho is going to spend big this summer, which he will be forced to do if Everton get their way, according to the Liverpool Echo, as they believe that the Toffees will demand at least £100 million for striker Romelu Lukaku, with United and Chelsea both eyeing a summer move for the Belgian.

Prolific this season, Lukaku would be a potent threat for Mourinho but with a number of other additions expected, such a high price may not be possible even with one of the biggest transfer budgets in world football.

A cheaper option could be Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, who the Sun say would be available for just £50 million. More of a winger or number ten than an out and out centre forward, the Frenchman has scored eight goals and registered 17 assists in 41 games so far this campaign for the Bundesliga team.

At just 19 years of age, that could represent a sound investment, but Thomas Tuchel is unlikely to be happy to sell the winger given that he only moved to Germany last summer and has rapidly established himself as a key figure for the club.
