How Twitter reacted as Paulo Gazzaniga became Tottenham’s first official summer signing

Written by

It may have been long overdue but Tottenham finally announced their first official signing of the summer transfer window on Wednesday, with Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga arriving.

The 25-year-old has endured a frustrating career since arriving at St Mary’s on a four-year deal in 2012, only featuring 23 times across four seasons, and he spent last year on-loan at Rayo Vallecano.

Despite it being likely that Gazzaniga will be utilised as a back-up to current ‘keeper Hugo Lloris, rather than as competition, Mauricio Pochettino has a lot of admiration for his fellow Argentine.

The former Valencia man has signed on a five-year deal that will see him at the club until 2022.

It was Tottenham who took to social media to announce Gazzaniga’s arrival…

And some supporters were relatively pleased with the news…

Some weren’t as impressed with the new arrival though…

With the majority of fans still waiting on the big, marquee signings…

Whilst supporters of rival clubs reveled in Tottenham’s transfer dealings to date…

What do you think Tottenham fans? Is the Southampton man a good buy? Let us know below.
