How Chelsea rated in their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Manchester United

Written by

Going into this game, the Premier League title seemed almost sewn up for Chelsea. Now, it may not be quite so easy. A surprise defeat to Manchester United now leaves them four points clear of Tottenham, but they will have to be at their best to see it out.

The game did not pass without controversy as Ander Herrera clearly appeared to handle before threading a defence splitting pass through to Marcus Rashford who finished with aplomb.

Herrera himself followed it up in the second half with a powerful strike deflecting into the back of the net past stand in goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, leaving Chelsea looking defeated with no sign of a comeback at Old Trafford.

Here are how the Chelsea players rated at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon…

Asmir Begovic – 5

Should really have made himself bigger to stop Marcus Rashford from opening the scoring early on, but cannot be blamed for the deflected effort which beat him for the second goal.
