The FA Cup drew closer to the business end over the weekend as the four quarter-final ties were played out as the football world held its breath in anticipation of which four sides would reach Wembley. Manchester City were the first to reach the semi-final after a comfortable 2-0 triumph at the riverside over Middlesbrough, before Arsenal exerted their authority over giant-killers Lincoln City, eventually winning 5-0 at the Emirates.
Their North London rivals Tottenham were next to go into the semi-final hat after thumping Millwall 6-0 at White Hart Lane, a victory which would be sadly soured by Harry Kane’s withdrawal with ligament damage.
Finally, Chelsea booked their place in the last-four on Monday, winning a fiery encounter against former manager José Mourinho and Manchester United 1-0, a game which boiled over on several occasions including a square-up between the two managers and a red card for United’s Ander Herrera.
But who were the stars of the four matches that made it into The Boot Room’s pick for the Quarter-Final Team of the Round?
