The Mirror claim that unwanted striker Michy Batshuayi is set for a summer exit from Stamford Bridge, but will only be allowed to leave if a club comes in with a permanent offer for the Belgian. Given that he was purchased for £33 million last summer, it will have to be a substantial offer to persuade the club to part with the 23-year-old.
West Ham are thought to be interested but wanted a season long loan deal for the striker, who has scored five goals this season but only one in the Premier League, having failed to make his full Premier League debut even as his first season in England nears an end with his team leading the league table.
The club could need the money as they prepare a move for Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay if the club miss out on first choice defensive target Aymeric Laporte, say Capital Deporte. The Argentine turned down a move to Chelsea last summer to head to Spain but could be available again.
The 30-year-old ex-Real Madrid central defender would bring some much needed experience to the club with John Terry set to depart when his contract expires in the summer, and he could be a bargain option for Antonio Conte if he struggles to secure his younger and more expensive targets.
Another man whose future remains unclear is second choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who was linked with a move away in January. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is thought to be keen to leave in search of first team football and told Sky Sports:
“My future will be decided at the end of the season. We’re preoccupied chasing two trophies, nothing else really matters besides that. Everything else will sort itself out.”
The 29-year-old has made just seven appearances this season, down from 25 games last season, as he has failed to displace first choice Thibaut Courtois who has avoided injury and suspension for most of the season.
